The CCR 2017 Time Trial program will begin in conjunction with Southeast Division’s TT schedule as the 11th running of the Chasing the Dragon Hillclimb. This years event is set for the second weekend in May running on Saturday, the 13th through Sunday the 14th in the Joyce Kilmer, Western NC, US Forestry park area near Robbinsville.
Hey Brian. I’m not sure if anyone has pointed it out, but that weekend conflicts with the big Global Time Attack/Formula Drift event at Road Atlanta. I know attendance needs to be maximized, so I just wanted to make sure you folks knew about the other event.
Rocco… Brian said he’s having issues logging into the site but unfortunately it’s impossible to avoid all potential conflicts. An event like Chasing the Dragon requires a lot of early planning. The date for this years Dragon Hill Climb was set and announced in June of last year to the point of hotel rooms being booked for workers then. Hopefully you can find a way to make it up even so.
I’d like to volunteer for the Hill Climb event, who do I need to get in touch with? Thanks.

The Thunder Mountain General Store, Nantahala National Forest, 574 Santeetlah Rd, Robbinsville, NC 28771, has extended an offer for a 15 percent discount. This is during the Chasing the Dragon Hillclimb weekend (May 13-14) and applies to SCCA members and Hillclimb participants that spend $10.00 or more at the store (excluding gas or tobacco products). Stop in and mention to Ken and Melissa that you heard about them thru the SCCA and sample their great deli items including breakfast and lunch, snacks/drinks, groceries and souvenirs. Their hours that weekend are Saturday 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday 9 am to 4 pm.
